Do I need fishing experience to book a tour in Tenerife?+
No experience is required. Every charter includes hands-on instruction from our professional captains and mates, who set the gear, rig the bait, and coach you through each fight. Complete first-timers regularly land tuna, dorado, and even marlin on their first trip.
What fish can you catch in Tenerife?+
The deep Atlantic drop-offs off South Tenerife hold blue marlin, yellowfin and bigeye tuna, wahoo, dorado (mahi mahi), skipjack bonito, amberjack, and broadbill swordfish. Marlin peak from July to October, while tuna and wahoo are caught across most of the year.
What is the biggest fish you can catch in Tenerife?+
Blue marlin are the ultimate trophy, with fish in the 200–400 kg range hooked every season near the deep current breaks toward La Gomera. Giant yellowfin and bigeye tuna over 100 kg are also landed on our big game charters.
Can I keep the fish I catch?+
Yes — edible species such as tuna, wahoo, dorado, and bonito are yours to keep. Our booking manager Ksenia can recommend restaurants near Puerto Colón that will cook your catch for a small fee. All billfish (blue and white marlin) are strictly tagged and released alive under our conservation policy.
When is the best time to fish for tuna in Tenerife?+

What fishing gear is provided on board?+
Everything is included: professional Shimano Tiagra and Penn International reels, Howk and custom rods, outriggers, live-bait wells, skirted lures, and CHIRP/Simrad sonar. You only need to bring sun protection and a hat.

How much does a fishing trip in Tenerife cost?+
Shared-ticket fishing starts from €85 per person for a 4-hour trip. Private charters start from €490 per boat, the luxury Tanoa yacht from €1,200, and multi-day La Gomera safaris from €2,200 per day. Prices include all gear, bait, and a professional crew — no hidden costs.
How far in advance should I book?+
We recommend booking 3–7 days ahead in peak season (June–October) to secure your preferred boat and time slot. Last-minute trips are often possible — message Ksenia on WhatsApp to check live availability.
Can I cancel or reschedule my tour?+
Yes. If we cancel due to unsafe weather, you receive a full refund or free reschedule. Guest-initiated changes are flexible when requested with reasonable notice — just contact us directly.
Do you offer group discounts?+
Private charters are priced per boat, so larger groups already share the cost efficiently. For big parties, stag/hen trips, or combined multi-boat bookings, contact us for a tailored quote.
Safety & Comfort
Are fishing tours in Tenerife safe for children?+
Yes. Our boats carry certified life jackets in all sizes, and the sheltered south coast offers calm morning conditions ideal for families. The Barco 33 and shared bonito trips are our top recommendations for kids — short, active, and close to shore.
How do I avoid seasickness on a boat tour?+

What happens if the weather is bad?+
Safety comes first. If sea conditions are unsafe, we reschedule or refund your trip in full. South Tenerife is sheltered from the prevailing trade winds, so tours run reliably on most days of the year.
Is there a toilet on board?+
Yes — all of our private charter boats and the Tanoa yacht have an enclosed head (bathroom). Tanoa also features a fresh-water shower and air-conditioned salon.

Where do the fishing tours depart from?+
Most charters depart from Puerto Colón marina in Costa Adeje, with the luxury Tanoa yacht based in Las Galletas. Both ports reach the 1,000 m+ deep-water shelf within 15–30 minutes.
What is the difference between a shared trip and a private charter?+
A shared ticket (from €85/person) puts you on a boat with other anglers and splits the cost — ideal for solo travellers and couples. A private charter (from €490) gives your group the entire vessel, custom routing, and the captain's full attention — best for trophy fishing or celebrations.
